King’s Lynn man Scott Taylor traumatised ex-partner by assaulting her in kitchen
A man who traumatised his ex-partner by beating her to a point “beyond self-defence” has been sentenced.
Scott Taylor, 25, of Metcalfe Avenue in Lynn, left his victim with PTSD following an assault which took place on September 14, 2024.
Unrepresented, he appeared at the town’s magistrates’ court on Thursday for sentencing, having been found guilty of the offence at trial on October 14.

He was handed an 18-month community order, through which he will complete 15 rehabilitation activity days and 100 hours of unpaid work.
Taylor will also be subject to alcohol monitoring and a two-year restraining order.
Prosecutor Jacqueline Hanlon did not go into detail about the assault. However, she said that it happened in a kitchen and his trial found it went “beyond self-defence”.
A victim impact statement from the woman was read out for the court, describing how she has been “traumatised” and left with PTSD.
She said she now “struggles to sleep” and, in her new relationship, flinches when her partner moves his hand.
Taylor declined to speak when magistrates called upon him for input.
As the hearing had gone to trial, magistrates ordered him to pay £650 in court costs – but this was reduced to £325 as he is receiving benefits.
He will also pay a victim surcharge of £114.
