Nine-week closures on Gayton Road in King’s Lynn as new toucan crossing is installed
Drivers are set to face nine weeks of delays as a new crossing is installed on a key town road.
Improvement works are set to start on Gayton Road in Gaywood from Monday, January 19, and are expected to take more than two months to complete.
The street will be closed to traffic between the main access point to the QEH and the junction with Winston Churchill Drive from 7pm and 6am, Monday to Friday.

The works will see a new toucan crossing installed to replace the current staggered pedestrian crossing, during which time diversions for vehicles, cyclists and walkers will be in place.
While carriageway resurfacing is under way in the final week, the closure will be extended to include both mini roundabouts in the area.
The location for the crossing was identified for improvement within Norfolk County Council’s local cycling and walking infrastructure plan and is expected to cost £423,275.
A running lane will be left open, for emergency services only, to ensure unimpeded access to A&E at the hospital.
The county council has thanked people for their patience.
