King’s Lynn motorbike rider Zak Greenacre denies breaking pensioner’s knee after crashing into bus shelter in Gaywood

A man has denied injuring two people after losing control of an off-road motorbike.

Zak Greenacre, 21, who is currently being held at HMP Norwich, is set to face trial after pleading not guilty to a number of driving offences at Norwich Crown Court this morning.

The six charges included causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a crash, failing to report that crash, driving without insurance, failing to stop at a red light, and dangerous driving.

He had his first hearing for the offences at Lynn Magistrates’ Court last month, and entered no plea.

At the time, prosecutor Steven Munton alleged that on May 5, Greenacre was riding an off-road motorcycle on Gayton Road in Gaywood when he smacked into another vehicle.

It is said the defendant lost control, mounted the pavement and hit a bus shelter, where two pedestrians were standing, before driving away.

The impact left one victim – an 84-year-old woman – with a broken knee, and the other with broken limbs.

In Norwich today, Greenacre was refused bail and remanded back into custody.

A trial date has been set for June 22, back in the same court.
