Stoke Ferry emergency worker John Tear denies causing serious injury to man by dangerously driving an ambulance in King’s Lynn
An emergency worker has denied seriously injuring a man while dangerously driving an ambulance.
John Tear, 62, of Oak Road in Stoke Ferry, appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court in uniform on Thursday to plead not guilty to the offence.
Prosecutor Wendy Davidson did not go into detail about the event – but alleged that on August 13, 2024, Tear had been driving the vehicle on Scania Way at Lynn’s Hardwick Industrial Estate at a “speed not appropriate” when he seriously injured the victim.

Ruth Johnson, who was representing the emergency care assistant, made no comment and magistrates declined jurisdiction over the matter.
If convicted, Tear could face three years in prison.
He has been released on unconditional bail and is set to appear at Norwich Crown Court for a trial preparation hearing on February 12.
