Oscar the dog revived by fire crews after blaze rips through kitchen in King’s Lynn

Firefighters were rewarded with “thankful licks” after reviving a dog that was caught in a blaze.

Crews from Sandringham and Terrington St Clement were called to reports of a kitchen in flames on Lowfield in Fairstead at 6.30pm last Thursday.

A quick response from the owners and the team saw Oscar the dog, who was still inside, brought to safety. However, he was unconscious.

He was able to be revived using a Smokey Paws kit, a specialist oxygen mask for pets.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Fire and Rescue said: “Oscar came round quickly and was soon handing out thankful licks to his rescuers.

“The fire was put out swiftly, and because the owners had closed their internal doors, the significant damage was prevented from spreading further.”
