Amberley Hall Care Home in King’s Lynn marks 20th anniversary with casino-themed party
Residents and guests enjoyed a glamorous party as they celebrated a care home’s milestone anniversary.
Amberley Hall Care Home in Lynn threw a casino-themed event to mark 20 years since its doors first opened.
One special lady who was at the party and was handed a pink bunch of flowers was 71-year-old Jenny, the first resident at the home who joined the day it opened and remains there today.
Singer Emily Blake, who often provides entertainment at the home, performed to mark the occasion – while there were blackjack casino tables along with a buffet-style spread.
During the party, staff milestones were also celebrated for those who have been with the home for longer than five years. Among them was Mandy Price, who has dedicated 19 years of service to Amberley Hall and 20 years to Athena Care Homes.
Hannah Mulholland, head of lifestyle and community engagement at Amberley, said the home prides itself on offering its residents a wide range of activities.

These have included theatre and museum trips, as well as knit and nattter sessions and arts and crafts events.
Residents have also been able to mark the likes of Burns Night and St Patrick’s Day, and have welcomed countless school children over the years.
Blessy Masilimani, home manager, described the day as a “giant celebration” to mark the anniversary and the work of the 120 staff who contributes to the lives of people living there.
Mala Agarwal, founder of Athena, was in attendance for the celebration. She said: “Seeing where the home is at and how far it has come, and being able to enjoy 20 years of staff’s hard work, is lovely to celebrate.”
She said the party also gave people a chance to learn more about the home and its connection to the wider community in Lynn.

Lorna Rose, executive chair of Athena, said: “This is a special home. We are celebrating life of the people.
“I have been looking after care homes since 1997 and have been working closely with this home for the last year and it’s just about the special people.”
