King’s Lynn thief Shane Davis-Wilson has sentencing pushed back for £700 spree which saw him pinch booze, pizza and Tesco basket

A prolific thief has landed back in the dock after failing to turn up for his pre-sentence report.

Shane Davis-Wilson, 39, of Pleasance Close in Gaywood, will have to wait to hear his fate, as his sentencing for eight counts of theft, two breaches of bail conditions, and one refusal of a drug test has been pushed back.

His haul came to a total of more than £700 worth of alcohol, milk and pizza from various supermarkets, and on one occasion in November, he even pinched a Tesco basket.

Davis-Wilson was supposed to receive his punishment at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, having already pleaded guilty to the 11 offences, which took place between September 20 last year and January 14, at an earlier date.

However, the defendant did not show up for his pre-sentence report.

In mitigation, solicitor George Sorrell explained that Davis-Wilson had recent contact with probation – but ran into problems with the food bank, meaning the service was “concerned about his situation”.

“It’s becoming a problem in his life,” he said.

Magistrates decided to release him on bail, with conditions not to enter any retail premises other than the Oak Circle Mini Market in Gaywood.

A new pre-sentence report has been ordered, and Davis-Wilson is set to reappear at the same court on April 9.
