New charity shop opening on King’s Lynn High Street
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices is opening a fundraising shop on King’s Lynn’s High Street.
Workmen have been busy inside what was formerly a mobility shop at 50 High Street, revamping the store and posters have gone up in the windows to say it will be an EACH charity shop.
A spokesperson for the charity said it is “excited” to be opening in the town.

“I know the town has long been on our list of favoured locations and we’re thrilled to be on site, busy preparing for a soon-to-be announced grand opening.”
No date has yet been announced for the opening but posters say ‘coming soon’ and ‘donations welcome in store from February 20’.
There will be a volunteer information day on February 29 from 10am to 4pm at the store when anyone interested in helping at the new shop is welcome to pop in to talk about volunteering. A range of roles will be available with flexible hours and anyone interested can get in touch at: volunteerservices@each.org.uk

The charity has hospices near Norwich, also at Milton in Cambridgeshire and in Suffolk. It’s website says it aims to be “fun, happy and homely places for children to be children and dependable, supportive and restful space for families to be families”.
The charity, which delivers all-encompassing lifelong care for families and this includes short breaks, expert nursing care, therapies, care at end-of-life and bereavement support.
EACH has a number of fundraising shops including at Downham Market, Swaffham and Fakenham and like most charities, it relies on the shops to help fund its vital services.
The spokesperson said: “This year alone we need to raise £8m from donations and fundraising activity and £9.8m in retail income, given that we only receive around 15 per cent of our income from the government, county councils and the NHS. The remainder comes from donations, fundraising activities, charitable trusts, gifts in wills and from our shop and online sales, which is another reason we’re so exciting to be opening in King’s Lynn.
“We’re sure customers are going to love it and can’t wait to open our doors and start welcoming them in.”
