Overnight last Sunday, a piece of artwork emerged on a wall on Ferry Street, striking up questions as to whether it was painted by the famous artist.

The painting, on the wall of an enclosed car parking area owned by the nearby Globe Hotel, depicts William Shakespeare with a tin of spray paint in his hand.

“Shakespeare woz ere” is written in red next to the picture of the famous writer, who is believed to have performed in the town.

The piece has since been removed, with a spokesperson for Wetherspoon, which owns the Globe Hotel, saying it was done “as a security precaution”.

Camilo is currently studying Chemical Engineering at Cambridge University, having achieved “outstanding” A-Level results at Springwood’s Sixth Form last year when he received four A*s, making him the year’s highest achiever.

A councillor has lodged a shock complaint against her authority’s mayor and deputy leader following a row over the possible sale of council assets.

However, the deputy leader of West Norfolk Council, Simon Ring, has insisted that the assets in question – a motorhome site and a community charity base – will not be sold.

The council is in the process of reviewing its assets, looking at what land and property it owns and evaluating how much they are worth.
