King’s Lynn’s Mart prepares to open on Valentine’s Day as Tuesday Market Place taken over by rides, games and sweet treats

There’s not long to go until visitors can enjoy rides, games and treats in Lynn’s town centre.

The historic Mart is currently being set up on the Tuesday Market Place ahead of its usual return at midday on Valentine’s Day (Saturday).

The fun and frolics will last for two weeks before it wraps up on February 28.

This year, prices for all rides are £3, while bungee trampolines, dodgems and ‘The Booster’ cost £4 and children’s rides are £2.50.

Saver days will be on February 17 and 19, with all rides reduced to £2 per adult and £1.50 per child.

The fair will be open between 12pm and 9pm from Monday to Saturday during the first week, and from 5pm to 9pm during its second week, except the final day, when it is open from 12pm to 9pm.

On Sundays, it will be open from 2pm to 8pm.

While the fair is in town, Common Staithe Quay and Tuesday Market Place car parks will be closed to all vehicles.

When the Mart leaves Lynn, it will be heading towards Wisbech, where it will be operating from March 6 to 14.

The Mart dates back to the 13th century when the town was still called Bishop’s Lynn.
