A much-loved takeaway has officially marked its 30th anniversary of serving generously loaded pan-style pizzas.

Founded in 1996 by Lesley Farnsworth and her husband Anthony, affectionately known as Bunny, Galliano’s quickly became a firm favourite in Gaywood. The takeaway has built a loyal following that has spanned generations.

Today, Galliano’s continues under the ownership of Lesley’s niece, Lisa Williamson, and her husband John Gosling, who took the bold decision to give up their professional careers in accountancy and engineering consultancy to ensure that the venue’s legendary pizzas would continue to be served.

Lisa and John decided they wanted to mark the anniversary with something special. They held a “lunchtime legends 30th reunion”, which brought together customers, friends and family to celebrate in style with the iconic pizza slice and fries lunchtime special for just £1 – a nod to the deal fondly remembered by generations of visitors.

The response from the community was overwhelming, with a queue starting to form more than 30 minutes before opening as customers gathered to be part of the milestone moment.

The event was only made possible thanks to the support of family and friends, who generously gave up their time to help ensure everything ran smoothly and that everyone was served as quickly and safely as possible.

Lisa, co-owner of Galliano’s, said: “Seeing a queue before we even opened was emotional. It was lovely to see so many people wanting to be part of our special day.

“It made us incredibly proud and reminded us just how much Galliano’s means to the community.”

The anniversary celebration was not just about marking a business milestone, but about recognising the loyalty and support of customers who have kept the takeaway going for 30 years.

“As a family-run business we have grown up with many of our customers. We always strive to distinguish ourselves by being personable and as a result we have created a community feel,” Lisa added.

“Therefore it only seemed fitting that the celebration was as much about our customers as it was about us. We’re truly grateful to everyone who has supported Galliano’s over the years – being within this industry is very tough but receiving the support we have makes it all worthwhile.”

To commemorate the occasion, Galliano’s also launched a limited edition range of 30th anniversary merchandise, allowing customers to take home a small piece of the milestone and celebrate being part of the Galliano’s story.
