King’s Lynn Armed Forces charity The Bridge for Heroes receives funding for arts sessions
A Lynn Armed Forces charity has been awarded funding from The Norfolk Community Foundation to deliver a new creative programme.
The funding, awarded through the Public Health-Empowering Communities for Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, will enable The Bridge for Heroes to facilitate a series of workshops for veterans using storytelling, music, art, and the exploration of historical facts.
The ‘Project: Beyond the Uniform’ sessions will provide opportunities at the South Clough Lane charity for veterans to share and celebrate their experiences while supporting mental health, wellbeing, and community connection.

Music sessions will take place at 10.30am on Mondays, open to all members of the Armed Forces community. No previous musical experience is required. Art sessions are taking place on Thursdays at 10.30am. Further workshops and activities will be announced as the project develops.
Claire Mackintosh MBE, chief executive of Norfolk Community Foundation, said: “Norfolk Community Foundation is delighted to support this much-needed project that will make a real difference in the community. We wish them every success with their work.”
Helen Taylor, CEO of The Bridge for Heroes, added: “This funding allows us to create safe, welcoming spaces where veterans can connect, reflect, and share their stories in creative ways. We are incredibly grateful to Norfolk Community Foundation for making this possible.”
