Sugarcraft members from King’s Lynn donate 61 Christmas cakes to West Norfolk Befriending
A selection of cake treats are set to bring some festive cheer to those who are isolated this Christmas.
Members of Lynn Sugarcraft Club have donated 61 beautifully decorated Christmas cakes to town-based West Norfolk Befriending.
The Sugarcraft Club has been supporting West Norfolk Befriending for the last 16 years, donating cakes that are given out to socially isolated older people in West Norfolk at Christmas.

“The cakes are works of art and they are so appreciated by our clients. It really is a joy to deliver them and see our client’s faces,” said befriending operations manager Anna Sylvester.
West Norfolk Befriending, based at Thoresby College in Queen Street, has trained volunteers who visit or telephone older people, working to decrease isolation for those who are unable to leave their homes. Most of the people the charity supports are aged over 85.
The charity is looking for volunteer befrienders and anyone who would like to know more about what’s involved can visit www.wnbefriending.org.uk or call 01553 763500.

The sugarcraft club meets once a month at North Wootton and always welcomes new members. Contact Val Gooding klsugarclub@gmail.com or message the Facebook page for details.
