People Against Parental Alienation (PAPA) founder Simon Cobb to replace display stolen from King’s Lynn Town Hall

A father behind a campaign for equal parenting rights is set to relaunch a new display after items were stolen.

Simon Cobb, the founder of People Against Parental Alienation (PAPA), set up his demonstration outside Lynn’s town hall on Friday, January 23.

It included a number of toys, each representing a child who had lost time with their loved ones.

However, days after setting them up, the Long Sutton father went back to find they had been stolen.

The display was aimed at highlighting the impact that family court delays can have on children’s lives while they are separated from their parents for months or years.

Mr Cobb has told the Lynn News he will be replacing the stolen goods.

“Every day a parent is kept from their child is a day that can never be returned, and a memory that never had a chance to exist,” he said.

“The family court system isn’t just delaying justice, it’s stealing childhoods.

“Tears wash away lost years – but they don’t bring them back.

“Our message is simple. Children cannot afford to wait for justice that moves at a bureaucratic pace.”

The demonstration is calling for faster family court processes that prioritise children’s emotional wellbeing, “reimbursement of lost time” where court delays prevent contact, real consequences for repeated breaches of court orders, and early intervention to prevent long-term parent-child separation.

Mr Cobb said PAPA believes that without reform, thousands more children could lose years of their childhood.

“These children grow up – but the losses follow them into adulthood,” he added.

“We are standing in Lynn for every child who lost loving family members to delay, and every parent who lost years they can never replace.”
