Drivers warned of four weekend overnight road closures on A47 between King’s Lynn and Tilney All Saints
Work to install new environmentally-friendly street lights will see a stretch of the A47 on the outskirts of Lynn closed overnight during four weekends.
It will change the existing high-pressure sodium lights to LED on sections of the road between Lynn and Wisbech.
Following the Christmas break, work is due to resume on Monday, January 5, with the current weeknight closures of 8pm to 6am in both directions from the Pullover Roundabout along Pullover Road to the Shoreboat Roundabout at Tilney All Saints.

However, in addition to this, National Highways has said the A47 between the two roundabouts will also be closed during the same overnight hours for weekends of Friday, January 9 to Monday, January 12, January 23 to 26, February 6 to 9 and February 20 to 23.
On its website, the agency said LED lights are more energy efficient, have a longer lifespan, reduce light pollution and provide the same amount of light.
They also require less maintenance, meaning fewer road closures for lighting repairs, the agency has said.
The website also says there will be two power outages in January, with locations to be confirmed by UK Power Networks. Once known, details of the locations affected will be updated on the website.
Street light replacement work started in November and is due to continue until March 20, weather permitting.
The new lighting is part of measures to increase safety along the road, which earlier this year had a 50mph speed limit imposed and 20 average speed cameras installed along sections between Lynn, Wisbech, Guyhirn and towards Peterborough in a major £6 million project.
