Wiggenhall St Germans man Thomas Bowers arrested for banging on King’s Lynn Police Station windows
A man who was arrested for screaming outside a police station claims he thought he left his backpack inside.
Officers at Lynn’s police station were alarmed by a man banging on the windows of the building on December 18.
When they came out, they found Thomas Bowers, intoxicated.
He had come to collect his phone – but as he left, he started shouting and screaming down the street.
Police arrested him, and while transporting him to custody, he became aggressive and repeatedly tried to take off his seat belt.
Bowers, 31, of Legge Place in St Germans, appeared unrepresented at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, and pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
He was ordered to pay a £40 fine, a £16 victim surcharge and £55 in court costs .
Bowers told magistrates that he could not remember much of what happened.
“I got my phone, and I left – but thought I left my backpack at the police station,” he said.
“Turns out I left it at my dad’s.”
As he exited the courtroom, Bowers, who has 25 previous convictions, joked to the magistrates and said: “When’s our next appointment?”
