Police uncover more than 20g of cannabis in backpack of King’s Lynn man Michael Gray during search for knife
Police discovered a large amount of cannabis in a man’s backpack during a search for a knife.
West Norfolk Council’s CCTV operators alerted officers to a suspect who had been seen with a knife in The Walks in Lynn at around 7.30am on Sunday, November 16.
Upon arrival, they came across Michael Gray, 33, of Gaywood Road, inside the bandstand.

During a search, a pink cannabis grinder and 20.9g of the drug was found. He was arrested and taken into custody.
At Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, Gray, who declined legal representation, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug.
He told the court that he uses cannabis for medical purposes as he suffers from epilepsy and believes it helps to reduce his episodes.
“Things are starting to move forward,” he said.
“I know it looks bad – but I am trying to get things under control.”
Magistrates ordered him to pay an £80 fine as well as a £32 victim surcharge and £110 in court costs.
The cannabis will also be forfeited and destroyed.
