Bootleg Banksy painting in King’s Lynn removed ‘because it’s not real’
As swiftly as it appeared, it has been whisked away – Lynn’s bootleg Banksy is gone.
The art piece depicting William Shakespeare holding a tin of spray paint popped up on a set of white doors owned by The Globe Hotel in Lynn on Monday morning.
At the time, many speculated that it could be the work of world-famous anonymous graffiti artist Banksy. However, his team confirmed it was not on Tuesday.

A staff member from the pub told the Lynn News that the painting was removed today “because it’s not real”, though a spokesperson for Wetherspoon said it was done “as a security precaution”.
Disappointed passers-by came to view it this afternoon, only to find they were too late.
“It’s a ballsy choice,” one said.
