Recovering alcoholic Donatas Saukilauskas went on a booze-stealing spree in King’s Lynn
A recovering alcoholic who thought he could have one glass of wine and stop later went on a booze-stealing spree.
Donatas Saukilauskas, 41, of Sir Lewis Street in North Lynn, was caught on CCTV twice in one day, making off with oranges, wine and beer from Sainsbury’s and Morrisons on December 27.
With 32 previous thefts to his name, he appeared at the town’s magistrates’ court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to two more.

Solicitor Alison Muir said that alcohol has been the “key” to his offending over the years, and he has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings weekly to curb his problem.
“It was going so well that he thought he could have one glass of wine and stop,” she said.
However, this did not happen, and Saukilauskas ended up getting drunk on the day of his offences.
Probation officer Lewis Spicer told magistrates that at the time of the thefts, the defendant was subject to a probation order and at one point served a prison sentence.
He added that he continued to offend while on licence and immigration bail.
“His compliance hasn’t been particularly good,” Mr Spicer said.
Saukilauskas was ordered to pay a £500 fine as well as a £200 victim surcharge and £110 in court costs.
