The owner of a newly-opened Pilates studio claims she has “not been given a chance” by complaining neighbours as she awaits planning permission.

Megan Smith, 24, believes that those who have objected to her North Wootton reformer Pilates centre, Luco Wellness, “have caused a fuss” over parking and other matters.

Ms Smith has applied to West Norfolk Council for retrospective permission to change the use of a swimming pool hut into a pilates studio at Linnymead on Manor Road. The scheme has been recommended for approval by planning officers.

A veteran with dementia could see his life savings drained by a fight against a huge rat infestation after being refused emergency accommodation.

When it comes to caring for your parents in their elderly years, you think of being able to house them somewhere safe and homely – but for Jemma Pooley, daughter of 92-year-old Wereham man Kenneth Bolwell, that dream is far out of reach.

Her father suffers from dementia and, as of right now, is facing bills upwards of £10,000 to tackle a rat infestation which has left his home “uninhabitable” – according to pest control company Rentokil.

West Norfolk has had its fair share of horrific crashes over the years – but will new Government plans reduce the number of fatalities?

A road safety strategy has been announced, which ministers say will reduce deaths and serious injuries on Britain’s roads by 65% by 2035.

It is a significant step that could change many laws, including the lowering of the drink-driving limit.

It was a very happy start to the new year for one pupil who was presented with his prizes after winning a writing competition.

Matthew Edwards, a pupil at Walpole Cross Keys Primary School, found out just before Christmas that his winning story would be read out by none other than Sir Stephen Fry, on Radio West Norfolk.

His story, Edwin’s Christmas Wish, introduces readers to a cheetah who lives in Africa and dreams of snow. Santa Claus heard all about his wish and helped to make it come true in the entry to the competition arranged by Lynn estate agent Russen and Turner.
